Family of the Year
Four Victorian siblings who have lost a combined total weight of over 50kg have been crowned the Family of the Year at the Weight Watchers Healthy Life Awards. This new award was created to celebrate families and how they inspire and support each other to achieve weight loss and teach their children healthy eating habits for life.

Workplace of the Year
Sydney’s iconic St Vincents Hospital has been awarded the title of Weight Watchers Workplace of the Year. Employees shed a combined total of 657kg on the Weight Watchers At Work program.

The announcement event
Bron was presented the national award at a gala event on the night of 18th November, by Healthy Life Awards Ambassadors Channel Seven's Tom Williams, and former Olympian and Weight Watchers member Melinda Gainsford-Taylor.

Bron accepted the award saying that becoming the Slimmer of the Year is a pleasure and a privilege, and she was looking forward to being an ambassador to inspire others to embrace change and a healthier lifestyle.

Weight Watchers Australasia managing director Joseph Saad cited Bron's dramatic transformation in her thinking, habits and her appearance, as well as her positive outlook on life as a standout in a competitive field of amazing finalists.

“Selecting the overall winner was a very difficult process for the judging panel. Each finalist has accomplished great things: Allison who survived breast cancer; Heidi who transformed her life with an incredible 68.3 kilogram weight loss; Stacy who has overcome personal loss to keep the weight off long term and Helen a dedicated mother setting an example for her children.

“Bron, through her determined nature, is an inspiration to others, an amazing ambassador for Weight Watchers and epitomises everything we stand for,” Mr Saad concluded.

The 2009 Healthy Life Awards saw Australian entrants lose a remarkable combined total of over 10 tonnes.

National Breast Cancer Foundation
As a Platinum Partner of the NBCF, Weight Watchers donated $1 for every kilogram lost by this year’s entrants to breast cancer research. This year over $10,000 was raised for the Foundation.
