Eating out should be an enjoyable experience. With the flexibility of the ProPoints system, it's simple to eat out and still lose weight.

Just because you're committed to a healthy way of eating, doesn't mean you have to end your social life. You can eat out, enjoy yourself, and still lose weight by taking on board these tips.

1. Plan ahead
Planning Ahead when you are eating out means:
Saving some of your Weekly ProPoints allowance or earning Activity ProProints values prior to eating out. Your Weekly ProPoints allowance is designed to help give you maximum flexibility.

2. Make wise food choices
Even when you are out and about, you should continue to make the wise choices you are making at home. Choose meals described as steamed, grilled and baked and avoid items that are fried, crumbed and battered.


  • Have one or two courses instead of three. Chose an entree OR dessert
  • Ask for sauces and dressings on the side so you can control the quantity
  • Alternate alcohol with glasses of water
  • Skip pre-and post dinner nibbles such as nuts, garlic bread or gelato
