"My motto is - If you 'kinda' follow the plan, you will 'kinda' lose weight."

You may have come across 'ShazzyWomble' on the Message Boards. Let us introduce you to Sharon - an inspirational Weight Watchers Member. Here are extracts from her blog, "It's not just a journey...", about the ups and ups of her incredible weight loss. How my jounrey began...
After some awful photos taken at my son's 2nd birthday party, I knew it was time to do something about my weight. I hadn't realised how big I was until seeing those photos.
My mid-way revelation
I had an epiphany when I was half-way to my Goal weight. Everyone talks about Weight Watchers being a 'journey', but to me it's not. A journey ends when you get to your destination. For me Weight Watchers is a lifestyle. Achieving my goals will not be the end... it will be the beginning of another phase of my life.
The missing ingredient is you
Probably the biggest secret I can offer anyone who is thinking of losing weight is that YOU have to be ready to do it. No one can do it for you and there is no magic wand that can make it any easier. One thing to remember is you have to want to do it for you and it's not always easy, but absolutely worth it.
Why weight loss is worth it
I can lace my shoes without holding my breath.
I can fit down a slippery dip.
I can get up off the floor with ease.
I can sit comfortably in a chair with armrests.
I don't eat mindlessly when I'm bored, happy, sad.
I can see bones in my wrists, hands, collarbones.
I have to get all my rings resized, they're all to big!
I can say "no thanks" to chips and chocolate.
I wear make up more often.
I have more confidence.
I am proud of myself.
I like myself.
My hints and tips for successful weight loss
Tell everyone you're doing Weight Watchers as it's a great way to keep yourself accountable. I also found people to be supportive and accommodating... and less likely to give gifts of chocolate!
If you go to meetings to be weighed, stay for the meeting It's a great place to share, brag, support, discuss. I've made some fabulous friends.
Use the Weight Watchers website and take advantage of everything it has to offer. There is a wealth of information, recipes, tips, advice and community support.
Measure your success instead of relying solely on the scales. Remember those times when you've had a perfect week and expected a big loss, only to be confronted with an unmoving scale? We've all been there. That's when it's time to get out that tape measure!
If you slip up, don't beat yourself up. It's over, move on. The only way you can truly fail is if you give up. If you just don't stop, you will eventually achieve your goals.
Follow the plan and don't cheat! My motto: If you 'kinda' follow the plan, you will 'kinda' lose weight.
