Has anyone had cottage cheese on their home made pizza's?? Any suggestions for low fat cheese or toppings that make yummy pizza's? I don't want to go too high on the points.

Hi, I make my pizza with roasted pumpkin and zucchini with low fat ham bega 50% less fat cheese and feta, and I use a basil pesto and tomato paste on mountain bread, from memory about 7 points

there's a low fat italiano mozarella cheese that is lower in points than the 50% bega cheese which I put on my pizzas. I have zero point onion, red capsicum.
I have a few black olives, mild peppers. sometimes super sweet corn, bacon. normally around 6 or 7 points

Have you thought about a cheeseless pizza. I've had two so far, and both have been delish.

Greek Yiros for the base, tom paste, cooked meat, then whatever else (usually 0 point foods). In the oven for 20 mins. And enjoy.

I dont often put cheese on my pizza. I make a vegi one with green curry or tandori paste instead of tomato base.

If you were to cook your pizza with toppings and then put some cottage cheese on it and pop in the microwave the cottage cheese will go all melty almost like mozzarella. (although the base may go a bit soggy depending on what you are using).

try goats cheese, 30g is 1.5p and 30g of goats cheese is heaps. When we make pizza we freezeit first so its easier to cut up and crumble on. I love it however its not to everyones taste.

I put ricotta on pizzas so I can't see why cottage cheese (bleurgh!!) wouldn't work. Any recipe that says cottage cheese (bleurgh!!)can be substituted with ricotta with no change in quality (only taste lol).

I've done cottage cheese on a pizza and it was okay. I'd be tempted next time to blend it with some herbs and spread it rather than have it in blobs.

I often still use a small sprinkling (30 grams?) of bega 50% reduced fat grated cheese on my homemade pizzas, but also found like Steph that using 1/2 cm thickness sliced pumpkin (roast it or if you want it in 2 minutes flat just cook until soft in the microwave) layered on the based tastes awesome and seems to replace the need for cheese.

My fav pizza is (in order of topping layer) - tomato paste, sliced cooked pumpkin, sliced zucchini, sliced mushroom, small broccoli florets, small can corn, red onions thinly sliced, 30 gm grated cheese.

Used to make my own base but now use low fat pita bread.

This is our usual weekend treat meal =)

I am not much help, because I don't put cheese on my pizza anymore. I love spinach, onion, tomato and lots of chilli. Pumpkin is also nice.
